2005年、「談合」への取締りが厳しくなる時代、生き残りに奔走する建設業界の内幕を描いた問題作。池井戸潤「鉄の骨」を小池徹平が熱演! 若き建設(ゼネコン)マンが、会社を守るという立場に追い込まれ、談合に加担しつつも、自らの正義を貫こうと格闘する社会派エンターテインメント。 【配属先は、談合課だった。】2005年、一谷組に勤務して3年目の富島平太 (小池徹平)は、突然の異動により土木部営業一課に回される。そこは大手ゼネコンの代表者が集まり、公共事業の割り振りを調整する「談合」が仕事だった。平太は違法行為である「談合」に抵抗を感じつつも、巨額プロジェクトの受注、会社の命運を握る仕事にやりがいを見出していく。ある日、怪文書で「談合」を告発された一谷組は、談合グル―プから事実を隠すためだと、チャンピオン (受注業者)を外される。数々の官製談合が摘発され、社会全体が厳しい眼を建設業界に向けていた時期でもあった。その後も「談合」妨害に見舞われた一谷組。常務・尾形総司 (陣内孝則)は「一谷つぶし」が進んでいる事実を掴む。それは業界が競争相手を減らすために、一谷に仕組んだ陰謀であった。尾形は「談合のフィクサー」と呼ばれる山関組顧問・三橋萬造 (中村敦夫)の監視役を平太に命ずる。平太と同郷である三橋は、彼に心を許していく。そして「一谷つぶし」の裏側で、多額の金が三橋を通じて政治家・城山和彦 (北村総一朗)に流れている事実を掴む。ゼネコン業界の深い闇に迷い込んだ平太は、恋人・野村萌 (臼田あさ美)にも言えない深い葛藤を抱えることになる。そんな中、検察の強制捜査のメスが大手ゼネコンに入り、ついに「談合」崩壊の時が訪れる。その時、平太の運命は――。 第1回「談合課勤務を命ず」、第2回「生き残りゲーム」、第3回「地下鉄争奪戦」、第4回「誰にも言えない」、第5回「最後の入札」の全5回を収録。
