Subete wa Umi ni Naru

For all those Yuya Yagira-fans who wanted him back so badly and when it finally happened were so dissapointed to see him in 3-D-Shock-Labyrinth - even Yuya could not save that movie - HERE IS THE REAL DEAL. Under Mrs. Yamada sensitive direction Yuya carried on where he left us after Fumi zekka - Sugar and spice. It was a pleasure to see him in this excellent movie that found so well the balance between drama and humor, between serious topics, a girl on the quest for love and some slightly weird characters. All those characters do not simply remain some soon forgotten figures, but become alive on the screen. This movies will work you after you left the cinema. Eriko Sato like so many of those fine actors here did a good job. I love the scene in the restaurant when a waitress takes revenge on a child that terrorized her. Brilliant. I would not mind to see Yuya Yagira and Mrs. Akane Yamada team up again. This kind of movie is the turf where Yuya blossoms. And because this movie is such a fine film, it is even more regrettable that it again - like so many other interesting Japanese movies - gets a DVD-release without English subtitles. Nippon awake!!! There is a whole world outside of Japan that loves your culture, your music and movies and would like to take part, but does not have the chance to learn Japanese. It is so simple to add subtitles - here for this film they even already exist, for I was so lucky to be able seeing this movie English subbed on the Japanese film festival in Hamburg, Germany . Why are the subtitles not on the disc? Make us happy, add the subs and sell even more DVDs! And Yuya: great to have you back!
