2016年に横浜で産声を上げ、東京から各地へと精力的に活動範囲を広げながら現在では新メンバーにBa.もっちゃん (ghostlate/a.k.a.高輪ゲートウェイの兄)とDr.コバヤシ (NEKOSOGU (i)/xonto/sokonoism/ex Maggie)を迎えて、ライブハウスシーンを縦横無尽に駆け巡る4ピース・ハードコアバンドCAL。彼らの現体制初音源となる5曲入りEPがリリース! メンバー自身が影響を公言している通りREFUSEDのようなハイエナジーで叙情的な音楽性は今作でも充分に継承されながらも、ハードコア起点の樹形図を独自になぞりながらミクスチャー、オルタナ等からの影響も盛り込んだ新基軸にも挑む意欲作で、飛び道具的キメ、80's譲りなストンピンなビート、90's経由のメロディ・センスなどハードコアカルチャーを自在に行き来する様はCOMEBACK KID等のモダン・オールドスクールファンにも推薦できる上、TURNSTILE、SOULGLO、ANGEL DU$Tなど再定義が進む現行のハードコアシーンにおいても存在感を放つ1枚になる。また、新基軸といえば3曲目"Born again"では全曲の詞と歌を手がけるVo.清野氏が作曲に初参加。重厚なリフが紡ぐ張り詰めた空気と、それを切り裂くソリッドなフレージングはバンドの核を押さえた新たなピースであることに間違いないが、同時にゲスト参加等がない今作こそが新体制CALが放つ新たな名刺代わりだとでも言わんばかりの迫力があり、作品全体に"重み"も添えている。そんな最新EPは挑戦の結実でありながら、ひたむきに自身の"道"を行く彼ららしさも凝縮された作品。ぜひチェックの上、ライヴにも足を運び、その圧倒的覇気とピースな熱のカタルシスに巻き込まれてほしい。
