その天才的なクラシック・ヴァイオリンの演奏と、ロックやポップスにも果敢に挑戦する今日的なアプローチ、そしてファッション・ショーや雑誌でモデルを務めるイケ面ぶりで、母国ドイツを拠点に全欧で人気爆発中のスーパー・ヴァイオリニスト、David Garrettの2012年最新作『MUSIC』のリリースに合わせて行われたライヴの模様が早くも映像商品化! クリアなヴォーカルと美しいメロディを駆使して1980年代にアメリカを拠点にコンテンポラリーで数々の大ヒット・アルバムを放ち、90年代以降は母国ブラジルでいわゆる全米ビルボード誌クロスオーヴァー・チャートNO.1、ドイツ総合アルバム・チャートNO.1を記録した2010年作『Rock Symphony』以来2年ぶりのスタジオ・アルバム『MUSIC』。本作はそのリリースに合わせて行われたライヴの模様を収めた商品。過去の作品でMetallica、Michael Jackson、Nirvana、AC/DC等の楽曲を取り上げたGarrettだが、本作ではColdplay「Viva La Vida」、Justin Timberlake「Cry Me A River」、John Miles「Music」、Queen「We Will Rock You」、Led Zeppelin「Whole Lotta Love」、Dick Dale「Misirlou」、Eagles「Desperado」、Guns N' Roses「Welcome To The Jungle」を取り上げる等、クロスオーヴァーの幅をさらに広げ、勢いだけではない奥行きの深さを存分に感じさせる成熟ぶりを見せる。もちろん「スケルツォ」(ベートーヴェン)、「ノクターン」(ショパン)、「剣の舞」(カチャトリアン)、「2台のチェンバロのための協奏曲」(バッハ)、「喜びの歌」(ベートーヴェン)といったクラシックの名曲を独自の解釈でアグレッシヴにアレンジした楽曲も収録している。(収録内容はBlu-ray、DVD両フォーマットとも共通)
