Description

[Machine Translation] Brighton native Natasha Khan aka Bat for Lashes, acclaimed by many artists, releases her sixth album on Decca. It is an ode to Natasha's daughter, Delphi, and to motherhood, created in Natasha's second home, LA, during the Covid-19 craze. It is a sonic archive of Natasha's earth-side birth of her daughter Delphi, a deeply personal and transformative early moment of giving birth to Delphi, named after a future fortune teller in Greek mythology, while navigating the seemingly upturned outer world through 10 interwoven song poems The music documents the polarity of experiencing the The music became Natasha's sanctuary and emerged from a stolen trip to the studio. Each track was improvised and completed in a few hours, from "The Midwives Have Left" to "Letter To My Daughter" to "Waking up" to a cover of her daughter's favorite song "Home". The book is a chronological collection of diary-like offerings spanning the past two years. Unlike her previous works, this album also touches on the more instrumental world of "Bat For Lashes" and shows Natasha to be a confident composer and craftsman of intimate landscapes. The music creates a more womb-like, ambient space for the listener, but leaves plenty of room for her signature dream pop songwriting to vibrate. Natasha worked with Brad Oberhofer, Mary Lattimore, and Jack Falvey on this album.
Note: This is an import edition (manufactured outside of Japan).
