Bloodlines

[Machine Translation] PYRAMAZE, the multinational progressive metal band whose last album "Epitaph" was highly acclaimed not only by progressive metal fans but also by specialized magazines, has completed its seventh album "Bloodlines". The band's history dates back to 2002. Guitarist Michael Kemeier called for Morten Goede S rensen (Ds / Wuthering Heights), Niels Kvist (B), Jonah Weingarten (Keys), and Lance King (Vo / ex-Balance of Power) to join the band, The band debuted in 2004 with the album "Melancholy Beast". The band attracted attention as a promising new star in the progressive metal world. After a few member changes, the band released "Legend of the Bone Carver" (2006) and "Immortal" (2008), and has been consistently releasing new albums. After a smooth-sailing career, in 2011, founding members Michael and Niels suddenly left the band. The remaining members considered their options and decided to continue the band. After a hiatus of a few years, the new member of the band is Jakob Hansen, who is not only a musician, but also a renowned engineer/producer. The band's composition and production has improved dramatically, which can be seen in the albums "Disciples of the Sun" (2015), "Contingent" (2017), and "Epitaph" (2020). Two singles from the new album, "Broken Arrow" and "Fortress," have already been released before its release. Both are technical yet dramatic songs with memorable melodious and catchy choruses, and we can expect that this album will be as high quality as the previous one.

前作「Epitaph」がプログレッシヴ・メタル・ファンからのみならず、専門誌からも大絶賛された、多国籍プログレッシヴ・メタル・バンドPYRAMAZEの通算7作目のアルバム「Bloodlines」が完成。バンドの歴史は2002年に遡る。ギタリストであるマイケル・ケマイヤーの呼びかけによりモルテン・ゲーデ・ソレンセン(Ds / Wuthering Heights)、ニールズ・クヴィスト(B)、ヨナ・ウェインガーテン(Keys)、ランス・キング(Vo / ex-Balance of Power)が集まり、2004年にアルバム「Melancholy Beast」でデビュー。プログレッシヴ・メタル界の期待の新星として注目を浴びる。その後若干のメンバーチェンジを挟みながら「Legend of the Bone Carver」 (2006)、「Immortal」 (2008)とコンスタントに作品を発表。順風満帆なキャリアを積み重ねていたが、2011年に突如創設メンバーであるマイケルとニールズが脱退。残ったメンバーは検討した結果バンドを継続することを選択。数年の休止期間を経て新たなメンバーに、ミュージシャンとしてだけでなく、エンジニア/プロデューサーとしても名を馳せるヤコブ・ハンセンを加入させる。これによってバンドは作曲面・プロダクション面で飛躍的なレベルアップを遂げ、その効果はアルバム「Disciples of the Sun」 (2015)以降の作品「Contingent」(2017)、「Epitaph」(2020)で確認することができる。既にニュー・アルバムからはシングルとして"Broken Arrow"と "Fortress"の2曲を発売前に公開。どちらもテクニカルでありながらも、耳に残るメロディアスでキャッチーなサビが印象的なドラマティックな楽曲になっており、本作も前作に劣らず質の高い作品であることを期待させるものとなっている。
