SILENT HILL 3 - Original Soundtracks

It's the most famous soundtracks from the horror series "Silent Hill". Part of this music was used on the film Silent Hill.

SH3 is one of the scariest games in the series, with lots of claustrophobic, hellish scenarios and the typical SH creepiness ratcheted up for maximum fright factor. This OST follows suit with gurgling, spooky instrumentals and fantastic vocal numbers performed by the very talented Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. As the previous reviewer said, many pieces here showed up in the SH movie including Maternal Heart, the ethereal Never Forgive Me Never Forget Me and of course, the great vocal tracks, my personal favorite being You're Not Here... that song shoulda been a top ten hit! It's just a shame that all of the other SH OSTs are currently unavailable. With the release of the movie, it looks like Konami would consider re-releasing them... maybe in a deluxe boxset or something. I know I'd buy one in a heartbeat! For now though, this is all we have.

The SH games are known for their great soundtrack, like the FF series. SH3 is one of the best SH OSTs along with SH4. As amazing as the music for SH2 was, it was hard to listen to the soundtrack the whole way through as it was a bit depressing (still a great CD though, excellent guitar solos and sombre piano pieces). SH3 is different from the previous OSTs, whilst SH2 felt more like "music" - original SH OST contained a lot of ambient tracks- SH3 takes it further & introduces vocal tracks and overall this soundtrack as a more trip-hop feel. A lot of the tracks were used in the film, including 2 of my faves Maternal Heart & Dance With Night Wind. You're Not Here (played over the end credits) & Letter - from Lost Days (played when Rose & Sharon are travelling to SH) also feature. Please Love Me..Once More is also a fave. 2 vocal tracks to look out for are Hometown & Rain of Brass Petals 3 Voices Edit. Akira brings us another great OST, quite different from SH2. Although some people disliked the inclusion of vocal tracks, I felt they were a great addition to the games. Since there doesn't seem to be any sign of a film OST yet, there's no better time to buy this (& the other OSTs too)
