庭先に集まってきたねこたちを、ただただ眺めて癒される。そんなスマートフォン向けゲームアプリ「ねこあつめ」。このまったりかわいく、かつネコ飼いにはたまらない"猫あるある"を盛り込んだ内容に、世界中でファンが急増。"CNN"でも特集されるほど愛されるアプリがまさかの実写映画化! ――若くして新人賞を受賞し、一躍人気作家となった小説家、佐久本勝 (伊藤淳史)。現在は大スランプ中で、ヒマに任せてエゴサーチをしては、さらにドツボにハマる毎日。担当編集者のミチル (忽那汐里)は、そんな佐久本を励ますが、若さあふれる熱血アドバイスは、逆に佐久本には苦しいだけだった。ある夜、不思議な占い師から予言を受け、おかしな不動産屋 (大久保佳代子)の勧めで、佐久本は、多古町という片田舎の古民家に逃げるように移り住むことを決める。しかし、場所は変われど暮らしは変わらず、生活は下降線をたどる一方。ミチルの先輩編集者、浅草 (田口トモロヲ)には、見放されたようだ。そんなある日、途方に暮れて縁側で庭を眺めていると、1匹の猫がふらりとやってくる。しばし見つめあう、佐久本と猫だが、ほどなくして、猫は庭から出て行ってしまう。猫にも見捨てられたと落ち込むが、どうしても猫が気になり、ペットショップの店主・洋子 (木村多江)からアドバイスを受けて庭作りを始める・・・。こうして、若き小説家の「ねこあつめ」の生活が始まった―。ねこあつめの家ミニミニ写真集封入。三方背トールケースBOX仕様。
