Lotus Blossom

美しいパール・ヴォイスが紡ぐ、エレガントな世界。吹上綾、待望のセカンドアルバム。本作『ロータス・ブロッサム』は、前作に続き、岡安芳明がプロデュース。バックは、岡安と吉田桂一に、テナー・サックス奏者、安保徹が新たに加わった。本作の魅力としては、まずは、大きな成長を遂げた吹上綾のヴォーカル。次いでこだわりの選曲。岡安と相談しながら、何度も検討しセッションを重ねながら10曲に絞った。その内、デューク・エリントン関連の楽曲を3曲収録したこと。吹上綾は、デューク・エリントン (1899年～1974年: 享年75歳; 生涯に残した作曲数は、2000曲以上と言われている)に対する情熱がどんどん膨らんでいる。その成果が、本作。本作で吹上は、10曲中、4曲にて、VERSE (バース: 楽曲構成上、主要メロディの前に配置された序奏部分)を歌っている。『「バース」があることによって、曲の印象が豊かに変化したり、曲の持つ世界観がさらに広がるなと感じていただけると嬉しい』と語っている。ライナーノーツ。
