前作「そして、海へ・・・」では、武満徹の世界を存分に引き出した、フルート・槇本吉雄、ギター・尾尻雅弘の二人が、本作では、ロバート・ビーザー作曲「マウンテン・ソングス」を全曲収録。海から山へ、日本からアメリカへステージを移しても、二人の息の合ったアンサンブルは大自然の息吹を感じられる。また、尾尻氏のオリジナルアレンジによる、ロシア民謡「私の何が貴方を悲しませたの」による弦楽三重奏曲ト短調や、別名「ダッタン人の踊り」で有名な、アレクサンドル・ボロディン作曲、オペラ「イーゴリ公」よりポロベェツ人の踊り(女奴隷たちの踊り)など、聴き応えのある作品が収録された珠玉の逸品。
