ここ〈エレベーター〉が、お前たちの地獄になる――『シックス・センス』M・ナイト・シャマランが仕掛ける、ソリッド・シチュエーション・ホラー!! ――高層オフィスビルから一人の男が墜落死した。現場に急行したフィラデルフィア市警殺人課のボーデン刑事(クリス・メッシーナ)は、ロザリオを握りしめた死体に不自然さを感じつつも、その状況から自殺と断定する。ちょうどその頃、エレベーターの一基が突然停止し、5人の男女が閉じ込められる事態が起きていた。そして突然照明が消えて再点灯したとき、若い女の背中が切られて出血。閉所の中で5人は誰が犯人かお互いを疑う。無線を聞いたボーデンは警備室に向かい、中の5人とマイクを通じでコンタクトを取ろうとするが、エレベーターにボーデンの声は届いているものの、エレベーターの中からの声は全く聞こえない。そんな中、エレベーター内で再び照明が消えて再点灯したとき、首に鏡の破片を突き立て、セールスマンの男が死んでいた。その後も証明が消えるごとに一人ずつ殺されていく。ボーデンはそれがやがて人間ではない何かの力で行われていることを感じる。その恐怖の正体を知った時、なぜエレベーターに5人が閉じ込められていたのか、その驚愕の事実を知ることとなる・・・。
