Live at Ftarri

[Machine Translation] Ginte Preisaite is an up-and-coming pianist from Lithuania. Currently based in Copenhagen, Denmark, she is active in the improvised/experimental music scene, using electronics and vocals in addition to piano. When she visited Japan in September 2024, she performed at Ftarri, Tokyo on September 23rd as a duo with no-input mixing board player Toshimaru Nakamura. Toshimaru Nakamura is a world-renowned musician who improvises with mixer feedback and has released many CDs on Ftarri. This CD includes one piece from this collaboration, a little under 38 minutes long (Ginte Preisaite sometimes uses small electronics to create noise in addition to his main instrument, the piano), in which Ginte Preisaite's skillful piano playing is intermingled with Nakamura Toshimaru's diverse feedback noise, The two performers' performances were sometimes quiet, sometimes noisy, and sometimes flexible, resulting in a work that is highly enjoyable to listen to.

Ginte Preisaiteはリトアニア出身の新進気鋭のピアニスト。現在はデンマーク、コペンハーゲンを拠点に、ピアノ以外にもエレクトロニクスやヴォーカルも使って即興/実験音楽シーンで活動を続けている。彼女は2024年9月に日本を訪れた際、9月23日にノーインプット・ミキシング・ボード奏者の中村としまるとデュオで東京、Ftarriに出演。中村としまるはミキサーのフィードバックによる即興演奏で世界的に活躍する音楽家であり、Ftarri からも多くのCDリリースがある。本CDにはこの時の共演、38分弱の1曲を収録 (Ginte Preisaiteはメイン楽器であるピアノ以外に、小型エレクトロニクスを使ってノイズを放つことも)。Ginte Preisaiteの巧みなピアノ演奏に中村としまるの多彩なフィードバック・ノイズが交錯し、ふたりの演奏は時に静かに、時にノイジーに臨機応変に姿を変え、聴き応え抜群の作品を生み出した。
