ウクレレマスター、ジェイク・シマブクロが初めて手掛けた映画音楽はこの夏話題の日本映画『フラガール』。現スパリゾートハワイアンズ(旧 常磐ハワイアンセンター)設立の実話を感動のストーリーと迫力のダンスで描いた作品。 映画ではほぼ全編にわたって、ジェイクの書き下ろし楽曲や新録音源が流れる。また今回初めて、このサントラのためにジェイク作品に"歌"を入れた。歌うのは同じくハワイ出身でNY在住の女性シンガー、ジェニファー・ベリ。彼女のどこまでも無垢な歌声がジェイクの名曲「ウィッシュ・オン・マイ・スター」に新たな息吹を吹き込んでいる。他にもコンポーザーとしての才能を大いに発揮した好楽曲揃いのサウンドトラック。
