But the storm ceases. All that remained was a broken ship and despair. The owner of the second map is an "Edo merchant. His name is Ino Tadataka. He has decided to retire and has a map. But he could not believe that it was the true shape of Japan. He shakes off his family's protests and sets out on a journey. I want to know the true shape of Japan by myself. But that was a lie. His real purpose is... The third map is held by a cartoonist. The cartoonist, who has suddenly become a successful artist, is preparing for a new serial. His assistant suggested that he use an old map as a motif for his drawings. He immediately jumped on the idea, and his work was off to a smooth sailing start, but the cartoonist told a big lie to those around him... Can the three of them ever reach paradise? 少年社中 第34回公演【MAPS】がDVD化! 少年社中20周年記念第二弾。三枚の古地図、三つの嘘。それでも、僕らは楽園を目指す。――空間も時代も違う三つの物語は、三枚の地図と三つの嘘で繋がりあい、絡み合う。目指すは楽園。心安らぎ、誰もが幸福に暮らせるという場所。一枚目の地図を持つのは「冒険家」。冒険家は地図を頼りに、船乗りを率いて『幻の楽園』を目指す。だが彼は知っていた。その地図が偽物であることを・・・。激しい嵐の晩、死の覚悟を決めた冒険家は船乗り達に地図が偽物であることを告白する。だが嵐は止んだ。残ったのは・・・壊れた船と絶望。二枚目の地図を持つのは「江戸の商人」。彼の名は伊能忠敬。隠居を決めた彼は一枚の地図を持っていた。だが彼はそれが日本の本当の形だとは思えなかった。止める家族を全力で振り切り旅に出る。「自分の力で日本の本当の形を知りたい」。だが、それは彼の嘘。彼の本当の目的は・・・。三枚目の地図を持つのは「漫画家」。突然売れっ子となった漫画家は、新連載の準備に頭を抱えていた。そんな中、アシスタントは一枚の古地図をモチーフに描いてはどうかと提案。彼はすぐさまそのネタに飛びつき、作品は順風満帆の船出をするが、漫画家は周囲に大きな嘘をついていた・・・。果たして三人は楽園に辿り着くことが出来るのか? 脚本・演出: 毛利亘宏
