Description

[Machine Translation] A film adaptation of Rikuo Honjo's original story "Ishikari River. The film is an epic tale of how more than 300 members of the Iwadeyama Clan of Ou, who were unable to resist the onslaught of the government forces during the Meiji Restoration, moved to distant Hokkaido in search of a new life, and finally found a fertile new land by challenging the great plains of the Ishikari River. Under the direction of director Kiyoshi Saeki, the film stars Otomo Ryutaro as Agatsuma, the chief retainer of the Iwadeyama clan, who puts his years of ambition into his performance.
