[角川シネマコレクション2017年 11月度: 溝口健二作品 4Kデジタル修復版] 溝口健二の最高傑作のひとつ、「安寿と厨子王」として有名な森鴎外の原作「山椒大夫」を哀しくも美しい映像美で再現! ヴェネチア国際映画祭銀獅子賞受賞! ――平安末期、越後を旅していた母子連れは、人買いに騙され生き別れにされた。母親と離れ離れとなった厨子王と安寿の兄妹は、丹後の豪族・山椒大夫のもとに売られてしまう。奴隷となった二人は過酷な労働を課せられながらも、母親との再会を望む日々を送る。それから十年、大きくなった二人は依然として奴隷の境遇のままであったが、ある日、新しく買われた奴隷が口ずさむ唄に、自分たちの名前が呼ばれているのを耳にする。由来を尋ねると、子供を攫われた自分たちの母親の叫びであることがわかり、二人は遂に脱走を決意する。ブックレット(12p予定)封入。
