The eighth track, "American New Cinema," is a self-cover of a song written by vocalist Gendai Matsuyama and originally intended for solo performance. 約2年ぶりとなるaeronautsの新譜は最高にハイテンションな2nd Album「RIDE」。パンク、ニューウェーブ、グランジ、オルタナティブ・・・様々な音楽を吸収消化して飛び出してきたaeronauts的Rock&Popsサウンドの最高傑作。1曲目の「5days」から急激に気分は上げられ、タイトルトラック「RIDE」へ…、曲が進むにつれ、どんどん引き込まれてしまう。包み込まれるように、そのダイナミズムの中で身も心も気持ちよく揺れさせてくれるアルバム。世界水準に向けられたとも思えるそのサウンド感の突き抜けっぷりはハンパじゃなく、とても潔く、聴いていてスカッとする。ちなみに4曲目「Lost」、10曲目「Found」はギターの森川トモヲによる宅録&宅ミックスで、この兄弟的2トラックのタイトルを合わせれば"Lost and Found"…駅で見かける"落し物取り扱い所"の英語表記。意味ありげなこの2曲がアルバムの中で良い流れを作り、深みを与えている。また、8曲目の「American New Cinema」はボーカルの松山弦大の作詞作曲による弾き語り用だった曲をaeronautsに提供したセルフカバー的な曲。トータル的に洋楽的なサウンドセンスが満載でありながらも、日本語詞の奥深さも十分にあり、アルバムとしての完成度も非常に高い。本当に "良いアルバム" です。
