THIS IS POP

[Machine Translation] RATPATROL" is a four-piece punk R&R band led by Yoko Nakamura (YOKO), an actress of color child (theater company). 「RATPATROL」は、color child(劇団)の女優中村容子(YOKO)率いる4人組のパンクR&Rバンド。今作「THIS IS POP」は、バンド結成10年を記念した初の1stアルバムである。楽曲は平均2～3分のコンパクトかつキャッチーなパンクR&Rサウンドで、演奏は荒削りながら1度聴いたら忘れられないインパクトを持つ。メンバーの嗜好はゴス、R&R、パンク、ポップス、ガレージ、グラム、ティム・バートン、ディズニー・アニメ、アメリカンコミック、ポップアートと多岐に渡っており、そのどれもがサウンドに反映されている。今作に納められた11曲はどれも10年間の活動で磨き上げた必殺のレパートリーであり、まさに1stアルバムにしてベスト盤でもある。多くの人に聴いて貰いたいので値段も破格の1000円に設定。1曲目「MEDICINE」はバンド結成当初からLIVEのオープングを飾っているナンバーで、バンドの名刺代わりとも云えるポップかつノリのいいR&R。ある意味RATPATROLの魅力を凝縮したナンバーと云える。対照的に4曲目「THAT`S OUTRAGEOUS」はアメリカのB級ホラー映画のテイストを取り入れたマニアックなナンバー。RATPATROLの楽曲は常にキャッチーとマニアックの間を行き来しているモノが多い。<プロフィール>2005年暮 YOKOとTAROを中心に結成。2007年に4曲入りのミニ・アルバム「RATPATROL」(通称黄RAT)発売。現在は主に六本木morph-tokyo、赤坂GRAFFITIを中心にLIVE活動を行っている。YOKOが所属する劇団color childとも頻繁にコラボLIVEを行っている。2011年にオリジナルメンバーで再始動して以来不動の4人組である。
