北欧メタルの隠れた雄、長らく幻とされていたスウェーデン出身の元祖メロディック・パワー・メタル・バンド、”ブラックスミス”の1985年の4曲入りデビュー12"シングルと1986年のセカンド・リリースの7"シングルに更にデモ・テープ音源を足しアルバムに仕立てたマニア感涙のアイテムが遂に登場。今回の日本盤紙ジャケットCD化に当たっては、先行した輸入盤のジャケにプリントされた"The Early Years 83-86 " のタイトルを帯のみの表記にしてジャケをオリジナルに忠実に復刻。幻のシングル盤のジャケット・デザインをCD内袋に採用するなどの心使いは勿論、正直こもった音質に落胆せざるを得なかったCD化音源をソースから見直し、格段の音質アップでリマスター収録。さらにボーナス・トラックのデモ・テープの回転速度の狂いを修正して正規のピッチに戻す等、至れり尽くせりの完全決定版での発売!!
