THE GREEN ROCK LobSTERS

Last year, under the title of "Abnormal Tour 2010," the band toured a total of 12 venues. This is the first album for THE GREEN ROCK LOBSTERS, recorded with engineer Keiichi Kobayashi, who has worked with THE COLLECTORS and others. In 47 minutes and 10 songs, all of their current musical obsessions are packed into this album. The arrangements and lyrics are all original. All the songs have in common "funky rhythms and free melodies" and "each song is an independent world. This is the essence that sets them apart from other rock bands. Swagger" (M-1) opens with a funky and light groove, followed by "Kuzushi" (M-2), which inherits the springy beat and runs around with an emotive melody. The heavy bottom and riffs of "yaren what" ( M-4 ) will make your heart pound, and the ballad "40" ( M-5 ) will make your heartstrings tremble. The thrilling double-slap of guitar and bass in the popular rock number "Q&Q" ( M-8 ), a staple of their live performances, will captivate your ears. The final song, "Abnormal" ( M-10 ), was a gorgeous funky number with brass, percussion, and a female chorus, and was performed with the participation of the band mates. 1998年、北海道にてDr.沼田とBa.堀田が出会いバンド結成。その後活動の場を東京に移し、2007年にGt.笹崎とVo.&Gt.境が加入。以降新宿～下北沢のライブハウスを中心に活動する。ファンキーなリズムがうねり、ロックなギターが切れ味鋭くカッティングし、その上でVo.境のポップなメロディが踊る。時に深く、時に軽快なビートで彩られる楽曲は単純なジャンルで括ることの出来ない世界観を持つ。バンドのイベントである「異常なまでの」は今までに5回行われ、述べ500名以上の観客を動員してきた。その内容はバンドの演奏だけでなく、ダンサーや芸人のMCを迎えるなど、幅広い楽しみを提供している。昨年「異常なまでのツアー2010」と題し全12個所のツアーに回る。過去に3枚のCDを自主製作し、完売させる。THE COLLECTORS等を担当するエンジニア小林慶一氏を迎えてのレコーティングとなる本作はTHE GREEN ROCK LobSTERSにとって初のアルバムとなる。全10曲、47分間には今の彼らの音楽に対する拘りが全て詰まっている。アレンジ、歌詞どれをとっても彼らの提示するオリジナルが感じられる作品となっている。全ての曲に共通するのは「ファンキーなリズムと自由なメロディ」そして「各々が独立した世界」。そこに所謂ロックバンドと一線を画するエッセンスがある。「Swagger」(M-1)のファンキーかつ軽快なグルーブで幕を開け、「くづし」(M-2)ではそのハネたビートを受け継ぎながらエモ-ショナルなメロディが駆け巡る。「yaren what」(M-4)では重厚なボトムとリフが聴く者の心を躍らし、珠玉のバラード「40」(M-5)は琴線を震わせる。彼らのライブでは定番である人気ロックナンバー「Q&Q」(M-8)ではギターとベースによるスリリングなダブルスラップが耳を奪う。そして最後「異常なまでの」(M-10)は仲間の参加により、ブラスありパーカッションあり女性コーラスありの絢爛豪華なファンキーナンバーとなった。バCDを再生した瞬間から最後まで、リスナー決して飽きさせることのないアルバム「THE GREEN ROCK LobSTERS」がここに誕生した!
