京都大学医学部在籍の植島潤と大橋世里佳によって結成されたピアノポップデュオthe nirrowsのファーストマキシシングル。1曲目『アカネ空』。ボーカル植島潤の伸びやかで力強い歌がなによりも魅力的。The nirrows(植島潤、大橋世里佳)2007年4月、京都大学医学部軽音PAMOJAにて、植島潤・大橋世里佳によって結成されたエモーショナルピアノポップスデュオ兼バンド。主に京都のライブハウスを中心に、東京などでも活動中。結成のきっかけは偶然同じバンドを組んで面識を持ってから、共に2浪で同い年・スタバ好き・誕生日が近いという共通点のお陰で意気投合。結成に至る。The nirrowsの'nirrow'は造語であり、発音通り「2浪」に由来する。繊細な歌声とピアノの旋律、衝動的なバンドステージングと、どこか悲しみを漂わせるその楽曲と世界観、それとは正反対に明るくぐだぐだなMCを持ち味としつつ、月2～4本のライブをこなす。いい意味でお茶の間に流れていてもおかしくない強靭かつ普遍的なポップネスと、かっこ悪いことはなんてかっこいいんだろう的人間くささの叙情の楽曲感には定評がある。2009年夏には初の全国ツアーを敢行し、これからの活動がますます注目されている。
