At the time I wrote it, I was listening to a friend's band (Yazzie's band before) and got the idea from the intro guitar phrase of a certain song, so I started from the intro phrase. It was at that time that I first learned the term "octave technique" (lol). I just kind of connected the melody from the intro phrase, and the chord progression was the same for the intro, A melody, and chorus. I thought it might be too simple, but when I finished it, it turned out to be a usable song with surprisingly good intonation. 作詞)『MONSTERs』自分の夢を胸の中で暴れるモンスターに例えてます。うまく行かない現状であっても、そんなの自分で変えてやるぜ!的な前向きSONG。『ジレンマ』2002年N.Yのグランドゼロに行った時に感じた事を自分なりの解釈で歌詞を書きました。9.11N.Yテロ。ブラウン管から流れる映像は、どうしても現実味を薄くさせてしまう。実際にそこまで足を運んで初めて目の前にあるリアルさにショックを受けました。だからと言って何ができるわけでもない。ただ自分の周りの人を大切に想う事なら。。そこから広がっていけば何か変わるかもしれない。そんな想いで大事に大事に歌詞を書きました。その為か、その時々の感情によって歌の表情が変わる気がします。 『Refrain』La-Vie 唯一の応援的ソング。失恋しても視点を変えればおいしくもあるんだよという超前向きな曲。『Dream Eater』人生一回きりなら楽しんだもん勝ち。夢なんていくつあってもいいんだから欲張りにいこうぜ!!な超アッパーチューン。(作曲)monsters この曲はとにかく代表曲的なものが欲しいと思って、明るくノリの良いキャッチーなロック調の曲というのを念頭において作った覚えがあります。余談ですが作って初めてメンバーに聴かせた時、エージ君に「Bメロがポップ過ぎて良くない」と言われ作り直した覚えがあります。でも作り直したら自分でも「作り直して良かった」と思いました。 ジレンマ この曲は正直ここまでイチオシの曲になるとは思ってませんでした。これを作った当時友達のバンド(以前ヤジーがやってたバンド)の音源を聴き、ある曲のイントロのギターフレーズからヒントを得て、イントロフレーズから作りました。その時に初めて「オクターブ奏法」という言葉を知りました(笑)。そのイントロから何となくメロディを繋げて行っただけでコード進行もイントロ、Aメロ、サビと全く同じ進行で、単純過ぎるかな?と思いましたが、出来てみたら意外と抑揚があって使える曲になりました。歌詞がああいう内容になるとは意外でしたが、この曲は歌詞が付いた事によって人に共感を得られる曲になったと思いますし、歌詞が重要な位置を占める曲だなと思っています。Refrain これは実はあまりよく覚えてません(笑)。確かアップテンポでちょっと切なめな曲が欲しいなと、結構安易な気持ちで作った様な気
