The leader of the band, 5 ( Gou ), first returned to Japan from the U.S. at the age of 18 and started his music career in Japan. 日本に今までいなかったスタイルのバンド Lo-Fiの1stフルアルバム。The Roots, Breakestra, Ozomatliを連想させる。Jazz Hip-Hopの良さも持ちつつ、loungeやchill的な要素、又は昔のソウルサウンドを連想させるミックスを実現している。2008年に発売したミニアルバムはiTunes Music StoreのJazz Albumランキング2位を記録し、その後メンバーを一新した期待の最新アルバム。Lo-Fiは国内/国外でも活動しており、メンバーの幅広い文化的バックグラウンドが音のスタイルを大きく影響している。ブラックミュージックを基調にしたLo-Fiのサウンドはコアなリスナーからポップなサウンドが好きなリスナーまで聴ける。幅広い楽曲をこのアルバムに入れている。1曲目の聴きやすいラップスタイルのポップ感から6曲目のアンビエントなアプローチのジャムセッションの幅が聞き所。その中でも、7曲目等のヒップホップスタイルの曲にも一貫したグルーヴ感を貫いている。最後の曲がアルバムのクライマックス。全曲 Lo-Fi 作曲・編曲作詞: 5(バンドリーダー/Bass & Vocal)。リーダーの5(ゴウ)は18歳の時に初めてアメリカから日本に帰国し、日本での音楽活動を開始する。小さい時から楽器が大好きでピアノを3歳の時にスタートした以来、現在のベースに至まで色々なジャンルの音楽や楽器を経験する。最終的には自分の一番自然だったブルースやR&Bhip-hopの音を軸にバンドを結成する。帰国後に5が出会ったYOSHはジャズやデジタルミュージック等もオープンに聞き入れて自分のスタイルに取入れてゆき、新しく加わったキーボードNoriと共に5には無い絶妙に和の音をLo-Fiにミックスする。3人が揃ってからは様々のアートイベントやライブ活動で全国をツアーし、今年11月から海外のツアーも開始する。
