after the first album as a 3-piece band by noodles, IVY, I thought they were screwed up but with this release it seems Yoko has finally found a way to play not only the rythm part. There are also 2 re-worked tracks from their 4-piece days, almost as great as the originals

「最高傑作が出来上がった!」彼女たちの自信に満ち溢れた作品が出来上がった。ギタリスト脱退後、3人での初のアルバムとなった前作「ivy」から約1年、フルアルバムとしては実に3年ぶりとなるニューアルバム「Cove me Shakespeare」が完成した。10年以上メンバーチェンジなしに4人での活動を行って来た彼女たちにとって、初めて訪れたギタリスト脱退という大きな変化に、新たにメンバーを迎える事なく3人での活動を決意し、その意思表示的な意味合いも色濃く出ていた前作から、スリーピースでの活動が既に日常となり、本来の彼女たちの持ち味である切ない歌詞やギターフレーズに、力強いドラム、メロディアスなベースラインが絡む、独創的でバラエティーにとんだ作品となった。そして今作も山中さわお(the pillows)・吉田仁(Salon Music)・セルフプロデュースからなり、ミックスは前作同様全て吉田仁が行った。今回のアルバム制作は彼女たちには珍しく約半年という期間を費やした。その期間の合間を縫って、ここ数年来、ベーシックな活動スタンスともなっているアメリカ西海岸ツアーを行い、レーベルメイトのTHE STEREO FUTURE (Seattle)とともに5都市7公演を行うなど、国内外で積極的なライブ活動も行っている。また、アルバム制作終了と同時に映画音楽も手がけた。来春公開予定「LOVE MY LIFE」(主演:吉井怜・今宿麻美)に使用されるほぼ全ての音楽に、noodlesの楽曲が使用され、主題歌は新たに制作された。フルアルバムを完成させた直後にも関わらず、さらりと新曲を書き上げるあたりからも、現在の彼女たちの充実ぶりが伺える。「日本にもこんな音楽を奏でるガールズバンドがいたんだ」そんな唯一無二の彼女たちの音楽の中でも、名盤になる事間違い無しのアルバムが登場する。
