[角川シネマコレクション2016年 12月度: 溝口健二関連作品] わが暮し貧しけれど、わが恋はいのちかけて燃えん! ――駆け出しのシナリオライター・沼崎は下宿先の娘・孝子と駆け落ち結婚した。知人を頼り京都に身を寄せ、日本を代表する坂口監督にシナリオを見てもらうが、「全然使えない」と言われ、沼崎は坂口に認められるべく一心不乱にシナリオを書き続ける。極貧の中、孝子は内職をして沼崎を助ける。一年後、沼崎は坂口から仕事の依頼を受ける。今度こそと必死な沼崎だが、その矢先、孝子が喀血してしまう・・・。
