The first release from Daisy World Discs, presided over by Haruomi Hosono, is the first release of the modest and gentle wind songs of Shonan - Humming Kitchen! This album is an acoustic songbook with American roots music at the bottom, surrounded by the nostalgia and bliss of American good-time music of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The thirteen stories, told by Momoko Ishii's clear and compassionate voice and Yasushi Manaka's sound, resonate gently and sweetly like the wind that accompanies the subtleties in the smallest of everyday occurrences. There are dreams and disappointments, longing and anxiety, heartbreak and conflict, and tenderness glimpsed in sorrow. Haruomi Hosono's friend Tatsuo Hayashi of Tin Pan Alley participated in the recording as a guest drummer. He adds color to the acoustic, heart-warming world created by Humming Kitchen.
