The CD contains remastered, high-quality audio recordings of the legendary "Five Nights of Danshi" including Danshi's performance, Yuriko Haruno II's ronikyoku, which Danshi greatly admired, and the banter between Danshi, Kankuro (Kanzaburo XVIII), and Fumio Takada. 2011年に惜しまれつつ没した立川談志の足跡を伝える録音集成。立川談志はその生涯に多くの"伝説の高座"を遺した。晩年の読売ホール「芝浜」、国立演芸場「ひとり会」での孤高の芸、有楽町マリオン朝日ホールで初演した「包丁」など、談志はそれぞれの小屋に見合った名演を遺した。そのうちのひとつが1995年3月11日~15日にわたって国立演芸場で開催された「談志五夜」である。これは50代後半の談志が、一門や交際のある実演家に幅広く声をかけてして実現した寄席バラエティであり、演芸界の注目を集める大イベントであった。今回、国立劇場に保管されていた「談志五夜」の録音をはじめて蔵出しCD化。談志の高座および、談志が激賞した二代目春野百合子の浪曲や「談志・勘九郎 (十八世勘三郎)・高田文夫」の飛び入り放談を含む"伝説の五夜"を、リマスターした高音質であますところなく伝えるものである。また、国立劇場のアーカイブ音源から特典ディスク＜珍品集＞も初出し収録される。
