京太郎の祖母は戦前、まだ日本の統治下にあったころの釜山の町で「岡本旅館」という旅館を経営し、釜山駅で駅弁の販売なども行っており、釜山の町では有名な旅館だった。小さなころから祖母の思い出話を聞いて育ったという京太郎にとって今回の作品「釜山の風に吹かれて」は、自身のルーツをたどる歌ともいえる。作詩にもりちよこ氏、作曲には徳久広司氏を迎え、フォーク調に亡き祖母への思いを歌う、抒情的な作品。カップリング曲には京太郎版の「マイウェイ」となる楽曲、「この道」と、表題曲の歌詞にも出てくる韓国の愛唱歌「別離～イビョル～」をカバー収録。AB面メロ譜付き。
