Stella Mirus 2 Gokujo Kyusoku Ongaku

I have been entranced by Ms. Sugai's works since I first heard her beautiful "Mai". Since then, there have been "Air" (which really preceded Mai), "Kaori", and now "Stella Mirus 2." Her works are impossible to categorize; each is a unique work of art. Her "Stella Mirus 2" involves the listener to the point that one almost becomes a part of the music, and each time I listen, there is always something new to treasure. Eri Sugai's talent appears to be unlimited, and if anyone desires a unique and delightful musical experience, this CD is an absolute must.

This is the follow up to AIR, performed by STELLA MIRUS which was the pseudonym of the talented ERI SUGAI. She has already produced two stunning albums, MAI and KAORI, and this latest delight is a continuation of AIR. There have pieces by Albinoni, Bach, Smetana and Pachelbel) and those written by ERI (seven of them. Some tracks are performed unaccompanied, others with keyboards, all with beauty and grace. ERI uses her voice like another instrument and the phonetic sounds she makes in accompanying the music sends each track to another, much higher, plane. She add lustre to everything here and the total is just so wonderful that it gets better each time I here it. My favourite track? An impossible choice to make. Every track is very special, so I can not decide. All I will say is that ERI SUGAI is a top-notch star in my eyes; she deserves to have the attention and backing of a major record company to give her the fame, fortune and exposure she so thoroughly deserves. Perhaps then, the whole world will get to hear all her wondrous, heavenly music. Until then, I will continue to sit back and listen to her whilst thinking that life is perfect and can not get any better than what it is.
