[Machine Translation] The setting is Japan, where a huge "hole" has appeared. Eight men and women, wondering whether to enter or not, talk about their lives with each other... A completely original science fiction ensemble drama by a rare director and a cast of splendid actors! Directed and written by Takuya Kato. The film incorporates many attempts to mix theatrical and visual techniques. While the meeting scenes of the eight believers were shot on location, their lives are told entirely on the studio set. Only six studio cast members appeared throughout the film as parents, friends, and other characters in the narrator's life. The studio cast played approximately 150 roles, and set changes and quick costume changes were also performed in the film. The narration is by Kenjiro Tsuda, a multi-talented actor and film director. --Seven giant holes suddenly appeared in Japan. Holes larger than buildings, holes that penetrate clouds, holes that appear in the middle of cities.... Confused and overwhelmed by the situation, various investigations were conducted, but the true nature of the holes remained unknown. Eventually, people began to live with the holes. Many existed who entered the hole, but no one has yet returned. Then, a man appeared who claimed the hole as his god. His name was Ozawa ( Shinichi Tsutsumi ). Ozawa explained. There is salvation in the hole. Eight men and women are gathered at a resort facility. Kawabata ( Daishi Nakagawa ), Sugaya ( Shota Someya ), Matsuoka ( Moeka Kamishiraishi ), Aoyama ( So Morita ), Watanabe ( Kanji Furudate ), Shingo ( Tetsu Hirahara ), Iguchi ( Tomoko Nakajima ), and Okamoto ( Masataka Kubota ). They are followers of the group led by Ozawa. According to Ozawa's rule, before entering the hole, they must talk about "why they decided to enter" and record it. Okamoto begins. Shall we get started? Kawabata, the first one, begins to talk amidst a bit of tension. The first person, Kawabata, begins his story.
