[Machine Translation] Nana Komatsu and Ryuhei Matsuda star in this double feature. A story about the souls of a man and woman with no memories or names who meet again on the island of Sado. This is the only Japanese film selected out of the nine films in the Biennale College Cinema 2018-2019 International Competition, a project of the Venice International Film Festival to support up-and-coming directors, and was also an official selection in the Competition section of the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival. Inspired by the tomb of "Mujin" on Sado Island, Tetsuya Tomina directs his second feature film from an original screenplay. Tomina's style of fantastical tales will finally be shown to the world in Japan. Double stars Nana Komatsu and Ryuhei Matsuda lead the cast into a strange and mysterious world set at the site of a gold mine on Sado Island, which has been registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. The cast also includes Shinobu Otake, Shizuka Ishibashi, Min Tanaka, and Yayako Uchida, Kabuki industry hopeful Chinosuke Kataoka, dancer/director Kaiji Moriyama, and Noh performer Manjiro Tatsumi, all of whom are gems of expression. The music for the play is composed by Yojiro Noda, frontman of the leading Japanese band RADWIMPS, weaving a tale of "wandering souls". -- A woman (Nana Komatsu) who can neither remember her name nor her past wakes up. The story takes place on Sado Island. Kii (Shinobu Otake), a cleaner at the mine, finds her collapsed in the facility and takes her home. The woman is named Midori by the girls who live with Kii. Kii gets permission from the director ( Min Tanaka ) and Midori gets a job as a cleaner. Midori is guided by the presence of a cat and meets Ao ( Ryuhei Matsuda ), a man who lives on the premises. He, too, has no memory of his past. As they speak more and more, they meet up at the temple gate and spend time together, as if guided by something. One day, Midori encounters Murasaki ( Shizuka Ishibashi ), who seems to be very close to Ao, and she is disturbed.

何処から来て、何処へ行くのか 小松菜奈・松田龍平 ダブル主演。佐渡島の地でふたたび出会う、記憶も名前もない男女の魂の物語。ベネチア国際映画祭が新鋭監督を支援するプロジェクトBiennale College Cinema 2018-2019インターナショナル部門9作品のうち日本から唯一選出され、第36回東京国際映画祭コンペティション部門にも正式出品された本作。佐渡島に眠る"無宿人"の墓からインスピレーションを得て、オリジナル脚本で監督を務めたのは長編監督第二作目となる富名哲也。ようやく日本で富名の幻想奇譚の作風が世に出ることとなる。ダブル主演の小松菜奈・松田龍平は、ユネスコ世界文化遺産に登録された佐渡島の金山跡地を舞台に、不思議な神秘の世界へと導く。さらに大竹しのぶ、石橋静河、田中泯、内田也哉子、歌舞伎界ホープの片岡千之助、ダンサー・演出家の森山開次、そして能楽師の辰巳満次郎といった珠玉の表現者たちが集結。劇中音楽は、日本を代表するバンドRADWIMPSのフロントマンとして活躍する野田洋次郎が手掛け、"彷徨える魂"の物語を紡いでいる。――「生まれ変わったら、今度こそ、一緒になろうね」 名前も、過去も覚えていない女 (小松菜奈) の目が覚める。舞台は佐渡島。鉱山で清掃の仕事をするキイ (大竹しのぶ) は施設内で倒れている彼女を発見し、家へ連れて帰る。女は、キイと暮らす少女たちにミドリと名付けられる。キイは館長 (田中泯) の許可を貰い、ミドリも清掃の職を得る。ミドリは猫の気配に導かれ、構内で暮らす男、アオ (松田龍平) と出会う。彼もまた、過去の記憶がないという。言葉を重ねるうちに、ふたりは何かに導かれるように、寺の山門で待ち合わせては時を過ごすようになる。そんなある日、アオとの親密さを漂わせるムラサキ (石橋静河) と遭遇し、ミドリは心乱される。
