Description
DVD release of a film "BAD FILM" directed by Sion Sono centering on a performance group led by Sono, Tokyo GAGAGA. The film is set in Tokyo in 1997 when Hong Kong was returned to China and depicts conflicts between young men of the xenophobic Japanese group and Chinese group living in Koenji, Tokyo.

園子温、伝説の作品が初単品リリース!! 1990年代、園監督自らが主催したパフォーマンス集団「東京ガガガ」を中心に作られた作品。初めて映画に携わる若者達がスタッフ、役者として参加。2000人ものメンバーによって劇中のほぼ全編をゲリラ撮影。Hi-8で約1年をかけ撮られた150時間以上の映像素材は資金難の為未完成となっていたが、2012年DVD-BOX「園子温 監督初期作品集」リリースに際し、約17年の時を経て完成された。中央線の始発電車をジャックした撮影や大量のエキストラを動員した新宿アルタ前の大乱闘など、現在では考えられない迫力のシーンが展開する。――香港が中国に返還された1997年―。東京を舞台に、対立する在日外国人排斥を掲げる日本人グループと、高円寺を縄張りとする中国人グループ。その抗争に明け暮れる若者たちの姿を描く。
