愛くるしさ満載! 日本中が待ち望んだ子ねこ映画の決定版、ついにDVDリリース! 一流企業の人事部長・鬼塚太郎 (大杉漣)。職場でも家庭でも自分自身を厳しく律し、社員はおろか家族にさえ甘えを許さない。冷酷な社長・辰巳孝四郎 (鶴見辰吾)の元、会社に必要のない社員を容赦なく切りつづけ、全社員から恐れられていた。鬼塚は、人生に安らぎなど必要ないと考える一方で、実は、ひそかに胃痛に苦しむ日々を送っていた。そんなある晩、鬼塚は立ち寄った公園で、捨てられた子ねこをみつける。そのウルウルとした愛らしい瞳。気がつくと、鬼塚は子ねこを抱き上げ、自宅前に立ちつくしていた・・・。家に連れ帰ったはいいが、頑固一徹で通してきた手前、妻の静子 (原日出子)や娘に打ち明ける事ができない。熟考の末、鬼塚の出した結論は、会社の研修用施設の一室で、こっそり子ねこを飼い始める事だった。家族にも、職場にも決してバレてはならない、ひとりと一匹のうれしはずかしな毎日が始まる――。
