2009年、日本映画念願の米国アカデミー賞を受賞した「おくりびと」。その後の物語がいよいよ舞台に! 演奏家への道をあきらめ納棺師として働く小林大悟役を中村勘太郎。都会暮らしを離れ、大悟の妻、息子の母として生きる小林美香役を田中麗奈が演じる。映画「おくりびと」にて初めて映画脚本を手掛けた小山薫堂が、映画では語りきれなかったその後のストーリーを描く。また映画に引き続き音楽は久石譲が担当。演出をG2が担当し、新しい舞台「おくりびと」の世界を作り上げる。――「あれから7年余の月日が流れた・・・。父となった小林大悟。小林家は相変わらず、母親から譲り受けた喫茶店で暮らしている。家族の暮らしは幸せそのもの。しかし息子は、父をチェロ奏者と思い込んでいる。「パパは納棺師なんだよ」と言えない自分が歯がゆい大悟。NKエージェント社長の佐々木に人事部長に任命された大悟は、新聞広告の原稿をつくる。「旅のお手伝い」「年齢経験問わず」「高給保証」。なんと、その面接に現れたのは・・・。公開館: 赤坂ACTシアター 2010年5月29日～2010年6月6日
