『ガリレオ』スピンオフドラマ。柴咲コウ演じる女刑事・内海薫が難事件に挑む! ――貝塚北署に勤務する内海薫(柴咲コウ)は30歳を過ぎ、警察署という男社会の中で居場所を見つけられず、しまいには上司からは米・オクラホマで一年間研修を勧められるなど、人生の岐路に立たされていた。そんな時、薫は長野県警から指名手配されていた上念研一(ユースケ・サンタマリア)の身柄を拘束する。上念は、すでに亡くなっている老婆と一緒にいたのだ。その老婆の介護をしていた上念は、口論となった介護先の娘を殺害し老婆と東京に出てきたのである。内海は、容疑者を自供させ警察官としての自信を取り戻そうとしていた。しかし上念は、長野県警に移送された途端、今度は内海が取った調書とは全く異なることを言いだし、容疑を完全否定。誤認逮捕ではないかと疑われた内海は、長野で県警の当摩健斗(柳楽優弥)とともに再捜査を開始する。すると今度は、甲本という記者から長野県警に「無実の記者を自殺に追い込んだ不正警察官がいる」との怪文書が出回っていることを知らされる。しかもその自殺した記者は上念が殺害したとされる老婆の娘の父親だった。2つの事件に何か関係はあるのか? 内海の最後の戦いが始まる。
