TUBE 30th Anniversary Year第1弾シングル! 「都会から遠く離れて青く澄んだ海と空に包まれてみよう。そうすればきっと生きている喜びを再確認することが出来る」という思いから、昨年ボーカルの前田亘輝とギターの春畑道哉は曲作りの為に南の島へ渡り合宿を行い、自然と綺麗な海に囲まれた環境の中で多くの楽曲が誕生。今回のシングル曲「いまさらサーフサイド」もその合宿から誕生した曲で、作詞は前田亘輝、作曲は春畑道哉、編曲はTBS系ドキュメンタリー「世界遺産」のテーマ曲や映画音楽などを手掛けるギタリスト・音楽プロデューサーの鳥山雄司が担当。初夏の訪れを感じさせるサウンドと切ない歌詞の中には夏を愛するメンバーからのメッセージも込められている。更に今回の春・夏・秋・冬のシングルのカップリングにはメンバーがそれぞれ交代でメインボーカルを担当するというサプライズ企画も! 今作にはギターの春畑道哉がボーカルを務めた「Blue in Summer」を収録。 初回生産限定盤のDVDには、昨年行われた"TUBE LIVE AROUND 2014～Z・O・S・T～＠東京国際フォーラム ホールA"のライブ映像を収録。 夏=TUBEという強烈なイメージを持つTUBEの春シングルという事で、"夏の海×桜"という遊び心のあるジャケット写真になっており、カップリング曲で歌声を披露しているギターの春畑道哉が楽しげな姿で登場! 三方背スリーブ付。
