SAINT SEIYA

Long ago, in times almost forgotten, the goddess Athena was served by fighters called Saints. They had the ability to call on the powers of the universe. Now, a youth named Seiya emerges to fight for Athena. Seji Yokoyama's score for this long-running series is reminiscent of Hiroshi Miyagawa's work on "Space Battleship Yamato." The composer mixes classical orchestrations with contemporary pop motifs and, several themes feature vocal "scats" by both male and female choruses.
