I listen to a lot of classical and instrumental music, so the vocals and contemporary style of this album are a nice change of pace; it's really fun stuff to listen to, and makes you feel HAPPY inside! "Katamari on the Swing" (Track 02) is a swing-jazz remix of the Katamari main theme. "Everlasting Love" (06) is poppin' J-rock piece with a female vocalist; good beat! "Blue Orb" (11) is an ethereal, electronic piece; really spacey-sounding, like you're viewing the Earth from space, probably hence the track title. "Beautiful Star" (08) is also an ethereal, heavenly piece; characterized by use of accordion, it also has a sense of ambience to it: you can hear a fountain running, people walking, and children playing in the background, but not obtrusively so. "Angel's Rain" (09) sort of continues the accordion-based, almost French motif of "Beautiful Star," except this piece gets us back to the vocals. Lastly, "Houston" (10) is a bossa nova piece, with a good rhythm, and an usually soothing male vocalist.

Customer Reviews
The Katamari-series of games is truly something special, and so is the music. From the peppy, upbeat opening theme, to the dancable DISCO PRINCE, and the nerve-wrecking KuruKuru Rock, there's a lot of variety here. Though the soundtrack will probably appeal more to those who have actually played the game, it's very good nonetheless if you're in for something a little different. Namco's sound department has done another good job!
Having played the game right through, the songs have seeped into my conciousness to the extent that whenever I play the album, I am reminded of the levels that I have heard the music! Nevertheless, if you haven't played the game, this is a fantastic collection of odd-ball songs from a wide range of music genres. Listen to it and let the amazing music sink in!
