ジブリ×ビッグバンド! の決定版! ジブリ映画の新作『借りぐらしのアリエッティ』の公開を記念して、みんな大好きなジブリ映画曲集をジャズ・ビッグバンドで、書き下ろしアレンジで、爽快スウィング・カヴァー!! サックス5管、トロンボーン4管、トランペット4管にピアノ、ギター、ベース、ドラムのリズム・セクションという編成の正統派ジャズ・ビッグバンドが書き下ろしアレンジでジブリ曲集をカヴァーするというかつて無かったプロジェクト。カヴァーに挑むのは国立音楽大学卒業で第一回山下洋輔賞を受賞したトランペッター、赤塚謙一率いるAKBB(Akatsuka KenichiBig Band)。メンバー全員が20代というフレッシュなヤング・オーケストラ! ジブリの新作「借りぐらしのアリエッティ」から早くも主題歌をカヴァーするほか、「風の谷のナウシカ」が、「カントリーロード」が、「崖の上のポニョ」が、斬新なアレンジでスウィングし始める!!
