Just LOVE [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]

There's not much to say with this album since most of the tracks are easily forgettable, and some are just too embarrassing to listen to. It's comprised mostly of acoustic instruments, most of the songs being upbeat cheery songs. Although, I do like a few songs in the album, 5 actually. Wish upon a Star is a nice mid-tempo track with a single acoustic guitar tune being the back bone of the track. Set Me Free is a more emotional ballad, it doesn't hold a candle to the singers other ballads like dear... or if but i'll take it. The other two songs i liked are more upbeat, Holiday and I wanna see you dance. Holiday is a quirky song, that Kana seems to find obligatory to add to her albums, and the english lyrics can be a little embarrassing at first but for some reason i find myself bopping my head when she says "let's go to the beach, to swim, play, run, jump, surf, drink and eat, repeat. Mmm, it's so much fun!" I wanna see you dance on the other hand is the most upbeat track on the album, and it's the only dance track. Unlike Kana's usual style of a sentimental ballad, Torisetsu is a more fun and happy fast tempo'd folk-like song. Kana did not use anything particularly impressive here when it comes to her vocals but it's mostly stable and consistent throughout the whole song. I do enjoy the song and found myself humming to it at the end credits of the movie it was tied to, Heroine Shikkaku. I do love Kana Nishino's music so much and am actually a huge, huge fan. I have enjoyed most of her songs since her golden days. She did released three incredible albums in a row (to LOVE, Thank you, Love and Love Place). But now, it seems her music just keeps getting more and more generic and less distinctive. Recent songs like No.1 and Torisetsu are one of the songs made me not completely give up on her, but it's just too rare now and no one really expects her to release good songs anymore, well except for Japan who is completely in love with all her versions of Darling. Too much cuteness for my taste.
