The album title "Whiteout" refers to a phenomenon in the polar regions where the distance and direction are obscured by the diffuse reflection of snow and clouds over the entire sky. 前作から5年振り、通算7枚目にあたるBACTERIA待望のフルアルバム。オリジナルアルバムとしては実に9年振りのリリース! 今作『WHITEOUT』の収録曲は前作リリース後のライヴで演奏され練り上げられて来た新曲群。御馴染みの爆音疾走ナンバーから、近年の大作志向に見られる10分以上の壮大な長尺ナンバー、さらにライヴでラストに演奏され必ず盛り上がるハッピーダンスチューンまでBACTERIA史上最も音楽性の振幅に富んだ内容の作品となっている。アルバムタイトルの"ホワイトアウト"とは、極地で雪の乱反射と全天の雲によって距離・方向が不明になる現象。ここにおいては転じて「白く消える」の意。
