天才アニメーター湯浅政明の長編初監督作品となる劇場アニメーション映画「マインド・ゲーム」がブルーレイで発売! 実写、2D、3Dを融合させ、路地裏から宇宙までを超絶技巧によってメタモルフォーズさせてゆくハイブリッドムーヴィー。この斬新な映像表現に勢いと深味を与える音楽を手掛けたのは、ROVO、羅針盤等のユニットで世界的に評価の高い山本精一。声優陣には吉本興業とのコラボレートにより今田耕司、藤井隆、山口智充他、豪華キャストが参加し大きな話題をよんだ。アニメーション映画の大作が次々と公開された2004年、見事に2冠(文化庁メディア芸術祭大賞、毎日映画コンクール大藤信朗賞)に輝いた。更にファンタジア国際映画祭(カナダ・モントリオール)では、審査員ベストフィルム賞や観客ベストアニメーションフィルム金賞を含む全5部門で受賞するなど、海外からの評価も高い。――初恋の幼なじみ、みょんちゃんに再会した西。彼女が姉のヤンと営んでいる焼き鳥屋に招待されたまではよかったが、借金の取り立てにきたヤクザにあっけなく殺されてしまう。しかし、将来に未練たっぷりの西は、神様に逆らって再び現世に舞い戻る。とことんやると神様に誓った西は、ヤクザに追われて危機一髪のところで、今度はクジラに呑み込まれてしまう。そこで出会ったじーさんはなんと、クジラの中で30年以上も暮らしていたのだった。
