This purchase is not just an animation note but a gift to all the fans of the series as its enclosed in a beautifully ornamented box, sprinkled with photographic quality printed stills from the episodes and comes with a ribbon wrapped notebook that has messages and drawings from the staff! The animation note is about the same size as the Honeycomb production note and is an excellent addendum to it sharing the same excellent quality grainy paper as well as details on the OP and ED which was thinly covered before. Unlike that book which presented the general set pieces, this one covers a storyboard of the two OVA episodes with frame by frame sketches accompanied by one shaded still - even the particle effects like petals flying around. Also unlike the Honeycomb note is that most of the drawings overlap guidelines or break the motifs into elements and are accompanied by scribbled notes, heavy highlight, shading details and color pencil mockups. The Hidamari Sketch All Stars notebook really adds a personal touch to the package featuring handwritten messages from staff, signatures, scribbles, sketches, illustrations and even a small picture of the screenwriter's cats!
