Although released back in 1997, Kyuusai is Hirasawa at his finest; combining both faster and more subdued songs, it doesn't have the frenetic pacing of Solar Ray, but it much more upbeat than some of his later albums. As a result, it is an excellent first album for someone just getting into his massive collection of work. My personal favorites would have to be Town-O Phase 5, Kyuusai no Gihou, and of course, Niwashi King. But really, moving from start to finish, Hirasawa-Sama provides an excellent pacing, so you'll definitely want to leave this one on for awhile. But to repeat, if you're expecting that P-Model bounce, then by all means don't get this; get Solar Ray. If you want more Ambient work, buy Kenji no Propellor. This one has a more orchestral feel, but it's not to be missed.
