FINAL FANTASY X ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKGame MusicLovely Music
This is without a doubt one of the strongest, most gripping scores in the entire Final Fantasy suite.

FITHOS LUSEC WECOS VINOSEC FINAL FANTASY VIII Orchestra VersionGame MusicGreat "Best Of"-collection
A collection of some of the best themes from Final Fantasy VIII. To me, FF VIII is one of the musically strongest instalments in the FF suite, and this collection of orchestral arrangements makes it great justice.

Final Fantasy XII Original SoundtrackGame MusicFair Enough, But Uematsu-Sensei It Ain't
As far as I am aware, this is the first of the "regular" suite of Final Fantasy games (discounting all the "-2's" and the "Tactics'", etc) ever NOT to have a soundtrack composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Certainly, Sakimoto is a good composer, and he is an old hand at Square, but I must unfortuantely say that to my mind, he does not compare to Uematsu-sensei. Having listened through the score, there has not been a single theme that has really gripped me the way Uematsu-sensei's work can do.

Uchu no Stellvia (Stellvia in Space) Original SoundtrackAnimation SoundtrackLovely
Lovely piece of anime music. In fact, the music in the Stellvia trailer was what got me interested in the title in the first place.

Legend of DragoonSoundtrackGreat Music From a Brilliant Game
The LEGEND OF DRAGOON music is certainly brilliant, quite on par with the best out there. My only gripe is with the compilation itself - the BGM songs only play once, without looping (which otherwise is the norm in games music collections), which makes the songs - and the album - very short.

ICO - Kiri no nakano Senritsu (Melody in the Mist)Game MusicEvocative!
The lovely and haunting music of what must without a doubt be the best video games title ever not to make a hit in sold copies.

WILD ARMS Advanced ThirdGame MusicAbsolutely Superb
This is, simply put, an excellent collection of excellent music. It is, as far as I can tell, a complete compilation of all BGM and cut-scene music - and such music...! The theme song alone (in its various versions) is a brilliant composition, perfectly evoking, in a somewhat Morriconesque style, the Japanese Fantasy - Wild West - Anime feel of the game. The only songs that I miss - which is not a fault of this title - are the versions in the English localised version, which, for being translations, are quite brilliant in their own right - yet for some reason apparently not available on CD.

INNOCENCE / Ghost in the Shell 2 (English Subtitles) INTERNATIONAL VERSIONAnimationBrilliant ... If Strange
Oshii's INNOCENCE is certainly strange in many ways. It is also brilliant, providing much food for thought. It is a sequel to Oshii's first GHOST IN THE SHELL movie, and has thus very little connection with Shirow's original Manga or the STAND ALONE COMPLEX Anime series - and even less with Shirow's Manga sequel, MAN-MACHINE INTERFACE - except for the characters themselves. The voice acting is performed by the same Seiyuu that have followed the characters in the other productions.

GHOST IN THE SHELL (THE MOVIE)Animation SoundtrackEerie and Beautiful
The music is undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable parts of this animation feature. Shirow's work does tend to inspire very special music, does it not?

Duo U&UW (Double You)Absolutely Fantastic!
The first time I heard Double You's "Koi no Vacance" was an unforgettable experience. To my mind, this is J-Pop at (one of) its best. This collection of Showa period female duo covers is, to my mind, simply indispensable.

2nd W (Double You)W (Double You)Interesting, But...
This, Double You's second album, is still interesting in many ways, but not at all the blow-your-mind-away fantastic experience that the first one ("Duo U&U") was. An about even mix ov W original songs and more Showa period covers.

AH! MY GODDESS - Original Soundtrack 2Animation SoundtrackMusic to Match the Megami-sama...
It is a bit strange to listen to this soundtrack (this applies to both volumes) - in my ears, it plays very much like a video game OST. But nevertheless, it is lovely to listen to. A good match to a fantastic Anime.

Symphonic Poem "Hope" (Final Fantasy XII Main Theme) [CD+DVD]Taro HakaseGorgeous!
Wonderful music! This is of course only a teaser of what is to come in the full OST collection, but it stands well on its own. A gorgeous score.

Center Color [CD+DVD]Megumi HayashibaraA Great Album!
Megumi Hayashibara is a superb artist and a great voice actor, and this is one of my favourite albums. It contains several Anime hits (such as the Asagiri no Miko [Shrine of the Morning Mist] intro and outro songs and the Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis version performed in character as Rei).

Feel well [Initial pressing only limited release]Megumi HayashibaraFeel Well!
One of my favourite albums from one of my favourite artists. The album contains many memorable Anime hits, and makes for highly enjoyable listening!

sympathy [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]Hitomi TakahashiNice ... Very Nice
A highly impressive first effort. A very nice collection of songs that will grow on you - they're great when you hear them the first time, and the more you listen to them, the greater they become.

.hack//SIGN(Obsession/Yasashii Yoake)Animation(See-Saw)Wonderful Listening
In the first English release of the anime, there was this strange feature which enabled you to view the episodes with all speech and sound effects off, and only the musical score audible. This feature puzzled me greatly - until I went ahead actually tried it. I had already thought that the music was great, but then I realised how utterly gorgeous it was. I became an instant Yuki Kajiura fan. I got myself the OST album in short order, and it is still one of the Anime OST's that I listen to the most often.

Xenosaga II -Zenaku no Higan- MOVIE SCENE SOUNDTRACKGame Music (Yuki Kajiura)Yuki Kajiura at her best
One of the best game music scores it has ever been my pleasure to experience. Fans of Yuki Kajiuras earlier work - such as the Noir OST, and See-Saw productions like the .hack//SIGN OST - will find this eerily familiar. The music is simply gorgeous. (I do however miss the BGM, which is not included ... wonder if they will release an album...?)

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (English Subtitles) [Regular Edition]AnimationA True Classic
This is a Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli classic. Obviously somewhat rougher in its animation than more recent productions, but still a heart-warming story, skillfully narrated, in true Miyazaki style.
