T-4 Cheek / Chikuhodo Takumi SeriesMakeup BrushSuperb deal for incredible quality brush
I had this brush for a couple of months before it found a place in my every day makeup regime. However, once I discovered how great it was for directional application of blush, I started to use it daily. Now I am waiting to purchase several more brushes from the Takumi series -- I am likely to purchase brushes for the application of eye color since I prefer to use Canadian squirrel or gray squirrel for the application of foundation to get a more diffuse look. The price is incredible for the quality of brush you receive. The design is very clean and modern, and you only have to touch the brush hair very lightly to the makeup to get a deep, nuanced application of blush. I recommend this for any beginner, as well as advanced users like me. Everyone should have at least one Takumi brush to make their collection complete. It's an exceptionally good deal for a superbly designed, high quality goat hair brush.

Koyudo Canadian Squirrel Blush Brush (Red Lacquered Handle)Makeup BrushMy Favorite from Koyudo
I buy as many brushes made using Canadian Squirrel from Koyudo as I can afford when CDJapan releases each limited edition batch. First, the hair is great for perfectly precise application of powder color makeup -- I use SUQQU and Serge Lutens. It picks up color and allows you to apply it so that the color will appear to be applied in multi-dimensional gradations. It allows for a nuanced control that I have not attained with other high quality makeup brush hairs. I like to apply my makeup precisely but quickly. This brush is absolutely necessary as part of my makeup kit, both at home and when I travel. I only wish that I could afford entire sets of brushes made using Canadian Squirrel hair!

CB Red Squirrel Blush / Highlight BrushMakeup BrushThis Brush Is Now Invaluable To Me
I had this brush for around 4 or 5 months before I started to use this brush regularly. Initially, I liked that it was the softest brush in a collection of Japanese makeup brushes made with valuable hairs such as Red Squirrel, Canadian Squirrel and long Gray Squirrel hairs. Canadian Squirrel hair is more rough than Grey Squirrel, which is itself more rough than Red Squirrel. I started to compare this brush by testing it use in the application of blush against the application of blush with the use of brushes made with Canadian Squirrel and Grey Squirrel. I realized after intensive cross comparison in the application of blush that this brush picks up color as intensely as Canadian or Grey Squirrel. Now it is my first go-to brush when applying blush. It allows me to shade color both as lightly or as intensely as I desire. It was only after I compared its use against my other brushes made with very high quality hairs that it became so clear that Red Squirrel is as high quality as it is. It is clear that Red Squirrel hair is worth the high prices we are willing to pay for it.

CB Red Squirrel Eye Shadow BrushMakeup BrushGreat for Powder Eye Shadow
I received this brush as part of a 3-brush set that included a brush with fine tip for eye liner, this brush for eye shadow and a blush brush all made using the highest quality Red Squirrel hair. When I first received these brushes, I thought the Red Squirrel hair was too "slippery" to pick up color as densely as I preferred. However, it wasn't until I used this brush and compared its use in the application of powder eye shadow (from SUQQU) with other brushes that I own made with hair from high quality goat hair, Canadian Squirrel and Grey Squirrel that it was clear to me that although the hairs were not as stiff as the hairs from the other species of animals Red Squirrel hair still picked up powder eye shadow and allowed me to apply it very precisely, in layers allowing me to feel a lot of control in the application of color. I recommend all brushes from Koyudo made using Red Squirrel hair with great enthusiasm. The price is totally reasonable and is very high quality. Try not to clean this brush too much using soap. Instead, wipe it off after you use it using a static cleaning cloth. Because the hair is very "slippery" the color will come off easily by wiping. Cleaning this brush with soap and water will break down the hairs more quickly than if you wipe the brush to clean it. Enjoy!

CB Red Squirrel Eye Liner BrushMakeup BrushGood for drawing fine lines
I prefer to line my eyes with a smoky line using powder eye shadow. For that reason, this brush is less useful to me -- I imagine that it would be ideal for use with liquid eye liner and not powder eye shadow. I have the entire 3 brush set that this brush came in initially which included an eye brush and blush brush. For coloring around my eyes, I prefer to use the eye shadow brush that came with this set of Red Squirrel hair. The hair is very high quality. Very soft and doesn't pick up powder shadow very densely. Use it for lining your eyes with a gel or liquid eye liner. Great price.
