The World! EVAngelion JAZZ night =The Tokyo III Jazz club=Shiro SagisuShiro Sagisu
Another masterpiece by the composer Shiro Sagisu. Every track most is something I would love to listen to on repeat, and the new renditions of classic Eva songs are all great.

Ultimate Creedence Clearwater Revival: Greatest Hits & All - Time Classics [SHM-CD]Creedence Clearwater RevivalSHM 2 Hits + 1 Live 3 discs
It's SHM, Old style double jewel case. which I think is a nice retro package. Tired of digi packs. 2 discs of hits and the 3rd is live from different European concerts. 2 great booklets. Best CCR package I have ever seen.

North Bird (Title subject to change)Erena TerakuboWow!
When Europeans think about Jazz Japan probably would not come to mind first, but that perhaps is a mistake. Erena Terakubo' s album "Northbird" is a pleasure twice - artistically as well as technically. Erena and the band are really great, starting the album with a good number and get even better from track to track. The quality of the CD is - even for the high Japanese standard - superb! The sound is a pleasure to listen to. This album will surely be a favourite of mine for a long time to come! Cheers to girl from Hokkaido.

GLOWPeter WhiteThis cd is as good as it gets.
I have the SACD version of this disc and the sound quality is superb especially in multichannel stereo. The music is typical Peter White, mellow, warm and slightly jazzy however, the highlight of this album is the last track....nicely done..recommended.

Inglewood Jam 1952Al HaigToo short!
A CD which lasts only 26 minutes, it curls the swindle. It is certain that somebody found the goose that lays the golden eggs.

At The Bistro: Jazz KitchenV.A.Great lounge/jazz set/ low price.
From the Jazz Kitchen series of releases comes this superb compilation of latter day jazz numbers, given a downtempo lounge beat. The packaging is very sparse for a Japan release, being standard jewel case with no OBI strip, and a single fold out insert with minimal liner notes. But considering the low price, the purchase of this should be a no-brainer for modern jazz lovers.

Sing! - RCA Female Vocal SelectionV.A.Swing with a female twist.
For lovers of 50's era swing in the vain of Sinatra and Martin, but performed by beautiful women. There are many cuts you've probably heard before, recorded and made popular by the likes of Sinatra et al. A stirling compilation from BMG Japan, and endorsed by Japan's Swing Journal to boot.

Kind Of Blue [SACD Hybrid]Miles DavisKind of Blue
Kind of Blue is an all time classic album. I am writing about this hybrid version compared to the Sony 24 bit version I have from North America. The NA version had indicated that it was corrected, that prior versions had speed problems. I used an audiophile stereo sound system, Audio Research and Focal equipment. My Ref cd 7 audio research cd player reads DSD, not SACD for the purposes of this review. The Japanese Hybrid DSD provided better definition and seperation than the older cd. The glaring weekspot came in the highs and lows. John Coltrane simply has more beauty and strength in the older less technical version. His highs just got wiped out in the process of getting rid of bothersome noises. In conclusion, you may want both copys :") as the version reviewed offers an enhancement in definition, but the older version, provides certain highs and lows cleaned out in the mastering of this cd. When they amalgamate the best of both cd's, we will have the excellant rating strived for by cd purchasers.

LAND OF GIANTSMCCOY TYNER, BOBBY HUTCER, CHARNETT MOFFETT & ERIC HARLANDSome great jazz!
Never heard this CD before but always liked McCoy Tyner and Bobby Hutcherson so took a chance and ordered it anyway. Figured I couldn't go wrong with these two dudes. I'm glad I did, a superlative jazz title for sure! Wow, the real deal! Tight! Sounds good too.

Last Live At Dug [Cardboard Sleeve] [SACD Hybrid]Grace MahyaGo for it!
Wow! What an unexpected revelation in the world of female vocal! The album is interesting, fresh and rhythmic. Fine interplay of the instruments with the band sounding as a whole. Not even collection of the songs does not decrease the overall impression. CD format sounds good (SACD may sound differently) with air highs and tight bass. Recommended if you want to have a new female voice in your collection and get inspired by quality performance.

CASIOPEACASIOPEABack to the start of a legend.
This cd is the very necessary for Casiopea fans of the current era. Indeed it is the standard that ALL Jazz/Rock cds should measure up to. Casiopea's intentions of impressing the listener with original, rugged jams are evident in songs like Midnight Rendevous, Black Joke, Time Limit and swallow. The only song that may bother the listener is Dream Hill which has Japanese vocals. If you know the language then that might even be a plus for this cd. Altogether the jazz is excellent for anyone looking for powerful playing of Jazz.

Truth -20th Anniversary-V.A.The Truth always prevails
I never would have guessed such a great compilation could be made of one track. Almost everything you could imagine is covered here, from beautiful piano versions to raging rock n roll/techno versions. Truth (20th anniversary edition) is covered so well giving you the chance to hear the evolution of Truth from the first version right up to the 20th anniversary edition. An absolute must buy for all T-Square fans, old and new.
