I first heard this album in 1983. I was amazed at the power and onslaught of the sound attack! Until now, the album fascinates me. I consider this concert performance the quintessential of Cassiopeia.

Hank Jones, who has just turned 90, is still wowing audiences around the world with his elegant swing and "magic touch." Now we have his latest trio recording from the Japanese Eighty-Eight's label, and it is another masterpiece! The tradition of combining Hank Jones with an unexpected rhythm section continues in this wonderfully recorded hybrid SACD. The latest iteration of Jones' Great Jazz Trio includes veteran bassist George Mraz and explosive Billy Kilson who represents a new generation of jazz drummers. His sharp and powerful drumming is surely one of the highlights of this album. Two guests add variations to the program. Japanese singer Keiko Lee sings "I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart" and another Japanese singer and trumpeter Toku appears on "My Ideal," a song made famous by Chet Baker. More than anything, however, the star of the show is Hank Jones. He is a true master whose delicate touch and perfect control of the keyboard coaxes stunningly beautiful sounds out of the piano.

Excellent cd, this is great modern avant-garde bebop jazz, but not standard bebop this music with interesting tempo stuff/jazz-rock influence too, also awesome sound/record quality everything seasoned with excellent technique.

One of the best cd's in my collection. The sound is comparable to Platinum SHM-cd of Diana Krall- Live in Paris.

I have very much listened carefully and have compared this edition to original ECM. The obvious difference isn't observed. Simply good reprinting for those who haven't managed to buy an album earlier. The album is very good.

Very good budget release. But, all information included. Sound perfect! The album holds a special place in the catalogue of McLaughlin.

Good budgetary edition. The excellent sound, is better than on the European edition of 2002. I recommend this album in this edition.

Very good album in a Chick's solo career. Still felt echoes of RTF, but already germinating a unique "electric" style. The sound is good, but not much better that American remastered edition.

I HAVE THIS CD ON EARLIER RELEASE AND THIS UHQD VERSION SEEMS TO BEAT THE OTHERS ON SOUND FROM COLD CD PLAYER. DEEPER BASS AND DRUMS ETC UHQD SEEMS TO WORK AS AN IMPROVEMENT IN SOUND.

The sound is excelent This stereo remix is great It seems that it was made from the quad master tape Its a shame that they dont do a SACD multichannel or a DVD audio Well I still have faith

One of the most remarkable albums of funky jazz. Very good and "right" sound. "Meat" and "pepper", in which lightness and virtuosity. Very good format Blu-spec.

This classic album from Dave Brubeck is very well presented in Blu-Spec 2 CD format. You can hear things that probably has been missed in previous versions. Also it has good dynamics and no signs of compression. The digital master has been take from DSD mastering for SACD in 2001 and is a big improvement over the 1997 remaster. "Take Five" never sounded so real and so good. The purchase can be justified only for listen this track on a good hi-fi system.
