Front Seat [SHM-CD] [Low-priced Reissue]Sadao WatanabeThe one track i like
I purchase this album for the track with Patti Austin vocals i simply had to get the album for her remarkable vocal talent. The rest of the album is good but not great.

Someday My Prince Will Come [SACD Hybrid]Miles DavisStunning record quality!
I rate this ****** not 5! This is one of the best sounding SACD I have heard and owned (at least on my HiFi set-up) One of my favorite Miles' albums. It have ideal tonal balance, perfect instruments location, wide and depth soundscape. Trumpet, sax, and the cymbals present perfect tone, body and energy having good portion of smoothness in the same time. It comes from the same series like "Kind Of Blue" I own but "Someday my prince ..." seems to ha better mastering. Good job my Japan friends!

RemembranceEddie Allen QuintetGood enough.
Well balanced sound, on the neutlal side with slightly rolled off trebles. Wide sound stage - instruments located to the speakers' line but nice tonality. Sax and trumpet not defined to the very point location nor brought to the middle or front of the listener but rather spilled around. A bit missing cymbals energy (they are still fine and clear) - that could have been an author's concept. Nice cartboard CD cover, but after opening no idea what to do with OBI not to lose it.

Taking A Chance On LoveJane MonheitSensational !!!
Jane’s singing is nothing short of sensational. She has all the assets required of a great singer, perfect intonation and tuning, a fine jazz feel, inventive delivery and the ability to make a song sound very special. If you like a fine jazz vocalist, who sings the songs her way, this album is for you.

Feels So Good [SHM-CD]Chuck MangioneStill feels so good
Bought this album when it was originally released back in the day and played it to death. 2022 and I see it's available on CDJapan as a low-price reissue. Who could say no? After all these years it still sounds fresh and alive, a joyous celebration of an artist at his best and it still feels so good. Essential.

The Guitar Trio [SHM-CD]Paco de Lucia, Al Di Meola, John McLaughlinGuitar Trio
Was actually pretty disappointed with this release. The original 1996 pressing has better soundstage width, ambience and just sounds better in general. If you already have the original cd, this one will not be an upgrade.

S.P.O.R.T.STHE SQUAREA Fusion Classic
This is a remastered issue of the S.P.O.R.T.S album However, the sound of it is really amazing. The music itself, is excellent, being Takarajima a staple for T-SQUARE (THE SQUARE back then). A must-have for every jazz fusion fan, and certainly, for every T-SQUARE fan out there

Winelight [Limited Release / Low-Priced Edition]Grover Washington Jr.A Classic
I originally had Winelight on Japanese vinyl and it was just remarkable. Years later I get the DVD-A version and it was a huge disappointment. Now, along comes this lower priced edition and I must say it is stunning. It is just so clean (not sterile) sonically and you really do appreciate the love and care taken by those handling the mastering etc in Japan. A Classic.

Long Ago And Far Away [UHQCD]Charlie Haden & Brad MehldauBeautiful CD
Difficult to believe this was recorded live until the audience responds at the end of a number. The performance is magnificent with sound quality to match. If you are a jazz fan I would recommend this CD enthusiastically.

An Insatiable High [SHM-CD]Masayoshi TakanakaAbsolutely brilliant.
One of my all-time favourite Jazz Fusion albums. I don't know how many times I've listened to this album through the years of discovering it. From start to finish, it's always a joy to listen to!

The Girl In The Other Room [Limited Release]Diana KrallBest Album by Diana Kroll
The best album, the recording quality is better than most of the other albums performed by her. It seems that real professionals have worked on this album.
-
The Look Of Love [Hi-Res CD (MQA x UHQCD)] [Limited Release]Diana KrallDiana Krall The Look Of Love Hi-Res CD
One of the best albums by Diana Krall, but the recording quality leaves much to be desired, there is no depth of timbres, perhaps this is due to Hi-Res.
