Wow ! When I had read that thix box was better than the 94 remasters it was difficult to believe it. But since I have it I must admit that this is the ultimate box set. Worth the money. The SHM brings the best and I am not sure a SACD version would do better. On the III all the details are clearly here, like the band is in your room... When I listened to "tea for one" I had no need to listen to the 94 cd to compare. The sound was instantly better to my ears. And the packaging... really an island survival kit !

These replicas are fantastic. The attention to detail is superb. I've only listened to LZ3 but in my opinion the sound quality is much better than the 93 "remasters". Even if you are only a casual Zep fan, grab the box while you can.

WELL I BOUGHT THIS BECOUSE OF THE PACKAGING, I ALREADY HAD THE ZEPPELIN CARDBOARD SLEEVES FROM 02 OR 03. I DID NOT THINK I WOULD BE GETTING THE ZEPPELIN CATLOG AGAIN BUT WHAT SOLD ME ON THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL REPLICA UK SLEEVES AS WELL AS THE REPLICAS OF THE ORIGINAL OBI STRIPS AND ORIGINAL JAPANESE PRESSINGS. AS FOR THIS NEW MASTERING I DONT HEAR TO MUCH OF A DIFFERANCE IN SOUND, ITS A BIT BETTER BUT SINCE 2001 I THINK THEY FINALLY GOT THE MASTERING RIGHT, I HAVE SOME OTHER PAPERSLEEVES WITH THE SAME NEW MASTERING AND WITH THEM AS WELL THEY SOUND A LITTLE BETTER BUT NOT MUCH. THIS IS A FANTASTIC BOX SET FOR ANY ZEPPELIN COLLECTOR!!!!!!!!!!!! IT REALLY CANT GET BETTER THEN THIS! MAYBE THE SOUND ON THE 180 G VIYNL LP VERSION OF THE SONG REMAINS THE SAME SOUNDS MORE SUPERB BUT THAT IS A 4 LP BOX SET. THIS IS A WONDERFUL JAPANESE MASTERPEICE. I LOVE THE WHO ONES AND DEEP PURPLE ONES THAT RECENTLY CAME OUT AS WELL ALSO FINALLY WE GOT THE WHOLE GARDEN 73 SHOW!!!!!!!!

Zep fans out there, don't miss out on this set! The separation between instruments is superb, (as are the vocals) especially the acoustic guitar.Finally we hear Zep the way it was meant to be. Two thumbs up!!

Led Zep, Led Zep Fab..I know everyone is raving about this Box set..but why Not...Mr Robert sounds just great..the Zep warble peaks like never before..Ok so its 94 remaster or Gods remaster..who cares ..with a decent Hi Fi..oops thats so 70s...the Zep boys sound just great..maybe its the Emperors New Clothes or Snake Oil but God Bless you Universal Japan for doing us proud..I don't care if the cardboard sleeves are minus the 2003 versions..its a good job..Maybe they have fooled the Children Of the Revolution but with a package this good the focus groups have done their stuff...Lets hope we get the Bowie SHm if hes not too greedy..remember he was a Starman many moons ago !! Fantastic. I already own most of the North American cardboard sleeves from a few years back, so I wasn't going to buy this new collection. After reading the glowing reviews of it, however, I decided to take a chance on it and ordered it. I am glad I did. Immediately upon putting Houses of the Holy in my cd player, I was struck by the depth of the sound coming from my speakers. This was without comparing it to the previous versions of this album, so I knew there was something special about this version. With other SHM-cds, I have been less impressed, but I fully recommend this set. I just finished listening to CODA-I love that there are extra tracks on this album-and that is another bonus and reason to get this set. Thanks for going beyond my expectations with this release. If only North American record companies could produce packages with such high quality, there might not be such a slump in CD sales over here. I think I will be buying a second copy of this set, for a Christmas present. Thank you, Warner Music Japan.

As I have encountered on other SHM releases, the better your system is, the more difference you will hear. Just got my box and it is a beauty! Superb production. hat some do not seem to know is that these are based off the UK sleeves, not the USA sleeves. the UK sleeves were thinner than USA sleeves were when the albums were first produced. However, the bonding to the paper was much better than the USA, as well, so these are attempting to reproduce the UK sleeve style and thickness, hence the thinner sleeves. Note that the earlier 2003/05 min LP sleeve releases were based on the USA style jackets. SHM in general does allow more to come through. The overall sonic quality is just as it is with any other disc - it is only as good as the hands involved in its production. If the mastering engineer or transfer engineer does a lousy job, no SHM can over come that. My experience with many SHM discs is by and large, the production has been superbly handled. The USA Box soon to be released in late October, 2008, will NOT be mini sleeve and will NOT be SHM. Get this box before its too late! My highest 5 star recommendation.

I own most of the 2003 Japanese Paper Sleeve Editions of these CDs. These sounded better than the 1994 re-masters. The 2003 Editions have a little more volume than the 1994 remasters and they had more separation of the instruments. Warner , has used those 2003 Japanese Paper Sleeve Editions as the base for these , Shm-Cds. So , do they sound the same? NO! These Led Zeppelin Shm-Cds are even better sounding. WHY? Because , they are the 2003 Editions but now they are on , SHM-CDISCs. This means that all of the song's volume on each album are now at the same volume and Robert Plant's voice is more upfront in the mix. There is even more separation between all of the instruments. The only way to know this is if you have actually heard these Shm-Cds. Some people haven't heard these yet but think that they sound the same as the 2003 Editions or the 1994 Editions , but these new editions sound much , much , better. As for the paper sleeves , I lOVE the English style CD colours and the plastic coating on the sleeves. This is really good for the many extra , In Through The Out Door , sleeves. Having 4 bonus tracks on the , Coda Shm-Cd , doesn't hurt either. Well worth every penny. Nice job!

I give it a "5 STAR" Rating for using the 94'Atlantic remasters (Best Version) and the 1st "Official" Led Zeppelin "FACTORY BOX" (no home made Disc Union crap). Not to mention the Extra "In Through The Out Door" sleeves and bonus "Coda" tracks. Definitely worth the money spent. If you truly want the best Zep Sound, you'll have to find the OOP and HARD TO FIND! "Classic Records Re-issue" 200g QUIEX SV-P Vinyl Remasters. Which when (including Analog to Digital 16-bit & 24/96 bit flat Transfers) compared to these 16 bit CD versions, you'll hear very much the same but with a tad more low end. In other words, Unless Led Zeppelin comes out with 24-bit DVD-Audio to house the full sound dynamics, this is the best your going to get (what do you expect on 16-bit?). For Collectability reasons alone, I bought 3 personal copies never to be opened. I can always play my 2003 mini's ; )

The shm versions are noticably superior to the standard versions but there is certainly not an amazing difference. I find that the better the remaster the bigger the difference. For example, the latest Van Morrison shm versions are a much bigger improvement over the standard 96/24s than in this case. I also own the Led Zep cardboard sleeve versions issued earlier this decade. Compared to those the new sleeves are inferior. They are more like paper as opposed to the proper cardboard of the earlier ones. In general, I noticed that Warner cardboards are not nearly as good as Universal ones.

Took delivery of the Zep box today and it really is a set to behold. I thought I was imagining it but it is true, there seems to be more presence in the bottom end overall and a separation in the mix which reveals slightly more detail than before. I know it sounds crazy !! Whether it's my brain wanting to hear a difference I don't know. The mini-lp reproductions are perfect, and the extra tracks have been added to Coda as they were in the Complete Studio Recordings box just to top it all off. So all I can say is just get one before they're gone !! Sell your old Zep catalogue and jump onboard !!

I have finally heard these , LED ZEPPELIN SHM-CDs. I have to agree with the 3 other reviewers here. This is something very special. They all sound far , far better than the older 1994 re-masters. PLANT's voice is much clearer. I can finally clearly hear his YELL at the beginning of the , IMMIGRANT SONG. The 4 BONUS songs on , CODA , is a big plus. I have been waiting years for , LED ZEP , to get their sound correct and just like , THE WHO , and the , SUPERTRAMP SHM-CDs , that I already own , these do not disappoint. If you are a , LED ZEP fan , don't miss out on this amazing collection. Who knows when they will make more of these? I can now see and hear why they are selling out fast every where. I am in sonic heaven.

I don't know how it was done, the box arrived yesterday (lightning speed delivery as always from cdjapan) and I play every single album from Zep I to CODA the whole evening and night, it may in fact be the same 1994 remasters in which case SHM does improve the sound from amazing to OMG!, I don't see how it can be improve upon, don't buy it and you'll miss BIG.

I worried that this set would sound less than excellent because the remaster job was done in 1994. I was hesitant to purchase but eventually opted to buy it. I have it in my house and I've been playing it all morning. This is one very, very outstanding box set and well worth the money. By all means, pamper yourself and buy this grand box set.
